Interviewing for your PodcastOn September 15, 2019 by admin
People love to hear about new things and probably learn a thing or two. Dialogue is one way you can pass information to people without making them feel bored. If you are always the one speaking on a podcast, you are missing out something important. How about you introduce a new thing to your podcast, like having an interview with christin powers or any other influential personality. It will be a great idea; however, you need to keep some things in mind.
Adequate preparation before the interview is crucial. Check on the previous interviews your topic or interviewee has featured in and understand what will add value to listeners. Your research needs to focus on the H and 5Ws, i.e. who, where, when, why, what and how. It is also advisable that you obtain bio sheets as you search for information.
Write down all the questions you will ask and make sure you present them in a manner that flows. Having them written down will help to ensure that you do not miss any question as you interview your guest. In addition to that, your guest will feel more comfortable because you will sound more organized from the way your questions follow each other.
Make sure you listen to your interviewee. Most interviewers fail to listen to what their guest is explaining. Once you listen to the answers keenly, you will probably get other questions arising from your guest’s responses. By listening, more questions will arise and help to bring out more information that will benefit your listeners and make the podcast enjoyable.
You should prepare your guest in advance. However, this does not mean that you give them a word to word guideline on the questions you will ask. Letting them know everything you will ask will make your podcast boring and besides you will get scripted answers. In addition to that, you need to take control in the interview, make sure your guest sticks to the topic.
